BTS THE RAPTOR ROOM

Arriving in Cape Town at the end of March I was on the lookout again for some colourful spots to shoot the new Reversible Swim Collection. We'd been through Zanzibar off the coast of Tanzania and while a beautiful backdrop it was lacking the LOONY VIBES that we all know and love. 

Around the corner from our Apartment we found the Answer.. nestled away in a nondescript part of Cape Towns CBD... 'THE RAPTOR ROOM'. Neon lights blazing across the street and that ever so subtle hint of pink I couldn't resist a sneaky dinner to check it out. It was BEAUTIFUL.. what Loon Dreams are made of.

Neon Lights, Unisex pink bathroom with gold taps and feathers, framed tables filled with flowers.. THOSE pink bucket seats that I want in my house. A little bit of LGBTQ+ paradise in a country still fighting for equality. If you are EVER in Cape Town PLEASE make a stop here, if not for the beaut cosy decor then for the yummy comfort food and GIN bar (and of course there are Vejo & Vego options too!)

Driving through the Namib desert in a big yellow truck looking out for some spectacular backdrops... and yep... we found them!

It had taken 3 months to find the perfect spot but it was oh so worth it! This tiny little town called SOLITAIRE. Actually.. the SMALLEST town in the WHOLE of Africa! Consisting of a petrol station and a cafe... and the most amazing SKELETON CAR GRAVEYARD!! Complete... with cacti of course.. ABSOLUTE DREAMZ.
